In Moonlight Black Cockatoo, I wanted to capture the serene, almost magical calm of an Australian evening. There is something so grounding about watching a Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo resting in the night—nestled among golden banksias and bathed in the soft, cool glow of a full moon.
I built this piece around rich twilight blues and warm ochres, using rhythmic foliage patterns and textured brushwork to give the composition a gentle sense of movement and depth. My hope is that it brings a quiet moment of nature and sanctuary into your space.
