Native Butterfly
I created Native Butterfly to explore the bold, graphic shapes and vibrant colours found in our local native species.
Set against a textured white background, the focus is purely on the butterfly’s form and palette. I worked with layers of rich orange, fiery red, and cobalt blue across the wings, balancing the bright tones with an earthy centre and simple white accents.
It’s an acrylic on board piece, measuring 65 x 65 cm—an easy, compact size designed to bring a quiet burst of colour and nature into a space without overwhelming it.
